The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

The Snowy Day brings back the excitement of waking up to freshly fallen snow and wanting to get outside before anyone else has left footprints. The story follows a young boy named Peter as he pulls on his snowsuit, makes tracks, builds a snowman, and tries to save a snowball in his pocket. We love how much of the story comes from the small things children notice, like the sound of snow crunching under their feet. It’s a lovely book to read together after coming inside from a snow day, with wet mittens drying and everyone warming up.
