About the author: Richard Scarry began his career drawing maps and designing graphics for the US Army before moving to New York to pursue commercial art. After showing his portfolio to an editor at Little Golden Books, he found the place that would shape the rest of his career, first illustrating stories featuring characters like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Smokey Bear before creating his own beloved world of Busytown. Over the course of his life, Scarry illustrated more than 150 books that became part of generations of childhoods around the world.
