Camargue Fleur de Sel
While salt never loses its savor, not all salt is created equal. We bought this sea salt as an experiment several years ago, and it has become a home staple for us. Fleur de Sel, which translates to "flower of salt" is harvested each summer in the Camargue region of France. Along the coast are salt marshes, where salt crystalizes on top of the sea. The salt is then harvested by hand, as it has been for generations. The humid sea air is retained by the crystals, and makes them porous and crunch, which adds delightful texture and taste to any meal.
Salt is a wonderful gift for housewarming, graduates, or even mother's day, along with a little message about maintaining savor and sprinkling delight.
