French Boisson Crockery
For centuries, French crocks have been used to craft fruit vinegar, prized for both its medicinal benefits and culinary uses. These traditional boisson crocks, handcrafted by Poterie Renault in Argent-Sur-Sauldre, France, carry that rich heritage. Stanislas Renault first opened his workshop in 1847, and for over 170 years, five generations perfected the art of stoneware, fired in the same kiln. Sadly, the business closed its doors in the early 2010s, and these pieces are part of the last batch produced.
Whether you're making your own vinegar or serving drinks, hot or cold, these crocks offer a beautiful, functional touch to your home.
Pair with our Wheat Sheaf Bread Warmers, Brass Pepper Mill, and Red-Stripe Linen Tablecloth for a collection that celebrates timeless craftsmanship.
One usage note: When using liquids in your crock for the first time, please prep and season your cork and spout. Put water in the jug and place it over the sink to drain through the spout for 10-15 minutes. This will soak the cork and spout and help it to expand to prevent leakage. You can also soak the cork and spout in a bowl of water for 20 minutes before placing it in your jug.
