Shoemaker Martin

This Christmas tale tells the story of Martin, a Russian shoemaker who wishes to meet Jesus. Instead, three strangers in need arrive at his door, and after showing kindness to each one, Martin discovers that Christ had visited him after all.

Bernadette Watts brings the story to life with her detailed illustrations, which have earned her recognition across Europe for her fairy tale artwork. It's a simple story with a message that matters just as much now as it did when Tolstoy first wrote it.
