Olive trees are known for their long life, often standing for centuries. If you have spent much time in Spain or Italy, they are a common sight across the rolling countryside. This painting takes that familiar sight and depicts the trees as if they are marching together across the land.

Montaner was born in Palma, Spain. The son and disciple of Spanish sculptor Miguel Vadell Pastor. He is known for his landscapes and still-life paintings.
