Sleigh bells bring to mind the Christmas we know from old songs and stories, with horses pulling a sleigh through the snow and everyone bundled under blankets. Even if a sleigh ride isn’t part of your December plans, you can enjoy the same sound at home.

These bells are attached to a leather strap, and we like to hang them on the front doorknob so they jingle whenever someone comes in. Over time, the familiar jingle becomes the sound of everyone arriving home for Christmas.

There’s a connection to another Christmas favorite, too. The maker of these bells also  created the bell featured in It’s a Wonderful Life in 1946, with its reminder that “every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.”
