The Tale of Peter Rabbit

The Tale of Peter Rabbit began as an illustrated letter Beatrix Potter sent to the young son of a former governess, telling the story of a mischievous little rabbit named Peter. A few years later, she turned that letter into the book that would become her first published work in 1902 and one of the most beloved children’s stories ever written.

Beatrix Potter spent much of her childhood drawing animals and studying the countryside, and her affection for the natural world comes through in every illustration and small detail of Peter’s adventure through Mr. McGregor’s garden. This edition includes restored artwork along with illustrations that had never previously been published, all in a small hardcover size made especially for little hands.
