World Full of Horses
by Dahlov Ipcar
Effortlessly explained and splendidly illustrated, Dahlov Ipcar’s picture book is truly filled with all kinds of horses. Ipcar captures an important part of America’s past as she introduces beginning readers to the contribution horses have made to society. “Horses pulled the milk wagons that delivered milk early in the morning,” and “horses pulled the stage coaches that took people across the country.” Ipcar’s illustrations will provide talking points for older readers and new experiences to enjoy for younger readers. Children will enjoy this glimpse into history and come away with tidbits of knowledge they can proudly share with others.
Henry and Benji,
Your great grandpa Jensen loved horses. He had horses just to ride and big strong draft horses that pulled heavy loads. Their names were Jack and Dan and they even won a blue ribbon in the Utah County Fair because they were so strong! Here is a picture of your great grandpa Jensen in his ten gallon hat alongside Jack and Dan. I have more stories to tell you when I come next week.
