Discovering antique jewelry pieces to share with all of you is truly a delight. I love learning about this history of each piece, and this particular pieces is unique in every sense of the word. In Copenhagen, during the 1950s, husband and wife team Orla and Grethe Eggert, start a jewelry company called Flora Danica. Each piece of jewelry was completely unique. They would forage for beautiful specimens of Danish flora and fauna, which was then first coated with sterling silver, followed by a plating of 24 karat gold. Each piece is completely unique. We purchased two pieces in Odense of Flora Danica jewelry, Denmark and were absolutely amazed by the process and these two beautiful specimens. The detail on each pieces is truly stunning
Wild ginger attracts lots of butterflies. It a simple plant, but useful in many different ways. We hope that whoever brings this pieces home will be reminded of simple ways of reaching out to others.
