Working from life requires impulsive instincts and nature tends to be spontaneous. To take advantage of the moment, one must be able to adapt. The morning this painting was created an unexpected snowfall had dusted the peaks of the Wellsvilles the night before and the clouds were incredible. Without thinking twice, I grabbed my paint gear and headed out to record the fleeting drama.
