"As I neared the top of Jacob’s Ladder the tip of Lone Peak came into view. In seconds the trail of scorching sun was replaced by a cool breeze, and the scrub oak and slippery dirt transformed to tall firs, wildflowers, and towering granite rock. It was like entering a new world with only a few footsteps. The beauty took my breath away, and someday I plan on hiking it again (just not in 100 degree weather)."
