This painting was an attempt at capturing a fleeting moment. I was taking photos along the coast a few years ago when a lone seagull flew across the lens of my camera. The sun was going down as the fog was coming back in; creating a sort of golden mist. Everything was soft and I attempted to capture that in this painting. I'm not sure where the seagull was heading as I couldn't see any other seagulls nearby, but I wonder what his story was.
