In my early childhood years, I lived next to a river. My days were filled running barefoot in the water, saving injured ducks I found in the river, and pretending I was Pocahontas with a Grandmother Willow. I loved this river so much, I would spend days collecting litter in the river. I felt this call to protect it. Reminiscing on those days I realize the key part they played in the joy I have celebrating beauty with plein air painting. And I continue to heed the call to preserve the story of nature with painting.
