There is something about a silk scarf that makes you feel elegant. When I channel my inner Audrey Hepburn, it always includes a silk scarf. Wrapped around my head, cruising through town with the windows down, to keep my curls in place. Tied around my neck, as a finishing touch for a simple outfit. Or a quick way to pull my hair back and keep it out of my eyes as I paint (or do dishes).
These particular neckties, by designer Martyn Thompson, are like wearable paintings. Printed landscapes on these perfectly weighted scarves. Not only are they wearable, but they can also be used around the house. Hang it on the wall almost like a painting or use it to dress a tabletop. Each landscape has a unique feel to it and coordinates well with different personalities. For the person that is every at peace and constant as the sunset, choose the grassy field with the lone tree. For the person that exhibits buoyant happiness, choose the field of yellow sunflowers. Or for the more contemplative person, choose the stormy skies above the mountain lake.
Give to: your mother or your wife so that she knows how elegant she is in your eyes.
Frayed edges (purposeful).
